Established in 2007, the company originally operated under the name Trek Mining Inc. before officially changing to Equinox Gold Corp. in December 2017. Equinox Gold Corp. sold 8.7 million common shares of Versamet Royalties Corporation for C$130 million through a block trade, reducing its ownership stake from 10.7% to 2.7%. Following the disposition, Equinox Gold is no longer subject to early warning reporting requirements and Versamet's right of first offer on Equinox Gold's royalties has been terminated.
